The hypodermic needle theory is a prominent theory in social media that affects the understanding, attitudes, and behavior of individuals. In this viewpoint, media is a powerful and dangerous source because the user or audience is vulnerable against the effect of a certain message. In this study, we assess the relationship between this theory in the field of information technology with two person-centered approaches of constructionist or discourse analytic approach and the critical theory approach. Moreover, the libraries’ role in vaccinating users against this theory by increasing their knowledge is shown

This paper aims to introduce the quantitative method named Reference Publication Year Spectroscopy (RPYS). With this method one can determine the historical roots of research fields and quantify their impact on current research. Using a quantitative method named reference publication year spectroscopy (RPYS), this research tried to determine the historical roots of information seeking behavior research. RPYS pave the way for determining the significant years and works in information seeking behavior. The main problem is it can reveal whether Information Seeking Behavior has the same or different impact on these journals in terms of citation. Using scientometrics method, the initial data of this study have been extracted based on ISC Database. The revised data were analyzed and visualized in Excel. The distribution of cited references in information seeking behavior revealed four peaks within 20th century. Moreover, our analysis identified 4 peaks between 1989 and 2000 in the field of information seeking behavior, occurred respectively in 1989, 1993, 1998, and 2000. Based on the study findings, it seems that information seeking behavior research has been shaped intellectually by fields such as library and information science, management, etc. Moreover, it has been influenced by some theories and theoretical works

Assessment of students’ ability to cope with a new educational system and Information technology in Islamic Higher education-based setting may provide information with which to develop effective interventions to improve the process of information seeking behavior in the future. This study aims to identify the current status of information seeking behavior’s process based on the new educational system and Information technology in Islamic Higher education. The conceptual model which was used in this study included five stages as follows: Access to Information Resources, Using Information Resources, Evaluating Information Resources, Crisis situation, and Research skills. In order to assess validity (content), the views of Knowledge and Information Sciences professors and expert’s assessment was used and the questionnaire reliability was obtained between 0.684 and 0.754 by Cronbach alpha. In order to fulfill the aim of the study, 323 Female Students who participated in this study were randomly selected were 215 in Fars and 108 in Bushehr Province holders in 1394-1395 Academic years at Fars and Bushehr Islamic Higher education. Data collection tool in this study was the questionnaire. The Wilcoxon signed-rank test used to analyse data. The results showed that Library in Islamic Higher education, Printing Book, Authority, and learning in the classroom or training at the workshop, are so important elements for Islamic Higher education students. Knowledge management is a crucially influential factor in helping organizations survive and gain success in such a competitive environment and in this Information Age. Also, considering the fact that Sharing Knowledge in Nursing and Midwifery Faculty plays the role of a sample for others, tacit knowledge of Nursing Professors is a knowledge that is produced inside the mind of Professors and not saved in any database. The research method used in this study is a quantitative method. Sampling is purposeful. The sample was selected according to random sampling method with Cochran formula from 350 students and Professors. According to this sampling method, there are 205 students and Professors in seminaries over 2011-2015 in Nursing and Midwifery Faculty of Jahrom Azad university. This is a survey research which has been carried out by employing a questionnaire and SPSS for windows to analyze data. The main challenge of Nursing and Midwifery Faculty knowledge management is transferring tacit knowledge inside the mind of Professors to the others – especially scholars and researchers. This study evaluates Professorss tacit knowledge transfer to nursing experts. To investigate knowledge management and the ability of knowledge sharing in nursing and midwifery faculty between professors and students the method of " Mann-Whitney and Kruskal-Wallis test " has been applied. The results showed that there a positive relationship between Factors of the ability of knowledge sharing between Professors and Students, between men and women, between age groups, between different degrees.DOR: 98.1000/1726-8125.2018.16.105.0.1.75.121
