Knowledge management has an increasing role in knowledge-based organizations. Academic libraries have become an essential part of knowledge organizations, and knowledge management is vital. Therefore, this study addresses the challenges of knowledge management processes in Islamic Azad University libraries. This is applied research using the survey-analytical method. The study's statistical population included 60 managers of central libraries at Islamic Azad University. Due to the limited managerial staff, we employed the complete enumeration method. Data were analyzed using SPSS software. The study of eight factors showed that knowledge characteristics, knowledge source, communication channels, time, management, and technological factors had lower scores than the population average, which is a challenge for libraries. Both organizational and personal factors score higher than the population average, which is an opportunity for libraries. It seems that to improve the current situation, the managers of the libraries of the Islamic Azad University need to pay serious attention to the establishment of knowledge management and use the organizational ability and motivated workforce to meet the challenges and improve productivity.https://dorl.net/dor/20.1001.1.20088302.2022.20.4.18.7

Three objectives/ purposes guided the study and the hypothesis was tested at significance level of 0.05. Descriptive survey research design was adopted for the study. The population comprised 283 teachers. The sample of the study was the 283 though 244 returned copies were fit for analysis. One formulated hypothesis was tested with t-test statistical technique. The collected data were analyzed with the use of SPSS version 23. The major findings of the study include; the level of awareness of knowledge management by experienced and less experienced teachers in Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State was high. Knowledge management is a crucially influential factor in helping organizations survive and gain success in such a competitive environment and in this Information Age. Also, considering the fact that Sharing Knowledge in Nursing and Midwifery Faculty plays the role of a sample for others, tacit knowledge of Nursing Professors is a knowledge that is produced inside the mind of Professors and not saved in any database. The research method used in this study is a quantitative method. Sampling is purposeful. The sample was selected according to random sampling method with Cochran formula from 350 students and Professors. According to this sampling method, there are 205 students and Professors in seminaries over 2011-2015 in Nursing and Midwifery Faculty of Jahrom Azad university. This is a survey research which has been carried out by employing a questionnaire and SPSS for windows to analyze data. The main challenge of Nursing and Midwifery Faculty knowledge management is transferring tacit knowledge inside the mind of Professors to the others – especially scholars and researchers. This study evaluates Professorss tacit knowledge transfer to nursing experts. To investigate knowledge management and the ability of knowledge sharing in nursing and midwifery faculty between professors and students the method of " Mann-Whitney and Kruskal-Wallis test " has been applied. The results showed that there a positive relationship between Factors of the ability of knowledge sharing between Professors and Students, between men and women, between age groups, between different degrees.DOR: 98.1000/1726-8125.2018.16.105.0.1.75.121

Research centres have been always trying to promote their knowledge translation activities. Thus, understanding the status of knowledge translation in research centres is of high importance. The aim of this study was to investigate the status of knowledge translation in Iranian medical research centres to identify their weaknesses and strengths. This was a cross-sectional and descriptive study. To collect the data, we used a self-assessment tool which consisted of four domains: “research question”, “knowledge production”, “knowledge transfer”, and “the use of evidence”. Data was analyzed using SPSS and descriptive statistics. The mean score of “knowledge translation” in the studied research centres was 3.21 (SD= 0.69, Median= 3.29). “Knowledge production” obtained the highest score (M= of 3.6, SD= 0.72), followed by “knowledge transfer” (M=3.16, SD =0.76), “research question” (M=3.09, SD= 0.73), and “the use of evidence” (M= 2.95, SD= 0.98). Medical research centres had a proper situation in all aspects of knowledge translation. However, they should try to identify and prioritize the research questions of stakeholders and target groups by making more efficient relationship with them. They should also prepare appropriate reports of research results and should consider enough budgets for disseminating the reports among target groups and healthcare decision makers in order to allow them understand the actionable message of research results.
