Telkom University as one of the universities in Indonesia that have used website media has never done in-depth research to find out whether the main website it manages still has a gap between expectations and perceptions from the perspective of its users. In previous studies, assessments of higher education websites were carried out using the slightly modified WebQual 4.0 instrument by omitting several indicators. However, it is not clear what the priority level of each indicator should be measured, based on the perception of their users. This study will measure the level of the gap between the users' expectations and perceptions of the Telkom University website, and what factors are prioritized to be improved. To collect the required data, researchers distributed questionnaires to 400 stakeholders of the Telkom University website. The collected data were analyzed using the Gap Analysis and Importance-Performance Analysis methods. It can be seen that there are nine indicators on Telkom University's website that need improvement. From the results of this study, it can be concluded that there is still a gap between the expectations and perceptions of users, with several factors that must be corrected to improve the quality of the Telkom University website sequentially from the highest priority. This study contributes by developing the modified WebQual 4.0 instrument to assess the quality of the university website which uses five variables such as Usability, Information Quality, Service Interaction Quality, User Interface Quality, and Availability, and also provides an overview of the indicators that must be improved, indicators that must be maintained, indicators with low priority, and which indicators must be reduced in priority on the Telkom University website, Telkom University, Indonesia

Among different tools, university website is one of the cost-effective and convenient methods for communicating with users; it is also a platform for institutions or organizations to achieve their goals. Universities should work on their websites to keep positive images in their public minds. This study aimed to introduce overlapping various types of university website evaluation methods and models. Therefore, content analysis was adopted as the research methodology. Then, scientific databases were searched using the related keywords and extracting the published articles in the context of the university website evaluation. The results of this study showed that university website evaluation models and methods included Quality Web Model Development, Webqem, WAI, Webometrics, E-Qual, University Websites Evaluation and Credibility (UWEAC), University Website Evaluation Framework (UWEF), Development and Validation of the University Website Evaluation Scale (UWES), a Web Usability Evaluation Model for Higher Education (WUEM), University Websites Quality Web Model Development, University Portals Data Quality assessment Framework (UPDQAF), and the University Website Usability Evaluation checklist (UWUE): An exploratory study. In fact, webometrics is the only method that is distinct from other assessment methods. Moreover, UWEAC model with the highest average (0.194) has the most overlap with others. Since the University Websites Evaluation and Credibility (UWEAC) are the comprehensive model, university website designers and evaluators could consider this approach as a preferable model in the university website evaluation but they should ensure that most of the evaluation criteria are considered.

This study portrays the status of Open Access Journals in the ten countries joining the Association of Southeast Asian Nations. Integrating the data from the ASEAN Citation Index, Directory of Open Access Journals, and Scopus, each captured from wider to narrower angels, this work could take a better full-length portrait of such journals including some relevant information in the region.In the first index, the nine countries registered 587 journals, over 50% not listed in the second index. In the second index, the six member states published 1,623 journals of which 39% adopted Creative Common BY. For about two decades they have shown publication and registration growth rates over double than the world has. Indonesia could dominate in all but the third index. In Scopus, the journals in the region averaged below the global averages of all bibliometric indicators but Scholarly Output. Despite this, three countries were above the global average in eight indicators. Over 40% of the 98 journals were ranked in Quartile 2.Such a marked contrast between the number of journals indexed in the second index and that in the third one could lead to the better intra- and inter- collaborations to give the scientific productivity higher visibility and impact.

The world and its various fields witnessing many changes resulting from economic, political, social and technological developments. Where the societies are racing to have as much as possible information because primary is the raw material in its success and facing to these developments. In addition to use of information technology with high intensity these communities as known as the information society. Educational institutions must be at the forefront of organizations that rely on information and information technology- for their activities.Hence, the intellectual dilemma of research which is the diagnosis of the availability of the ingredients for building an information society in the College of Administration and Economics to be considered among these communities' societies? The research focuses on achieving a fundamental goal which is to measure the availability of the components of the information society in order to be adopted in building of this society. The researchers adopted questionnaire as a tool to collect field data and then prepared for this purpose. As the form questionnaire included 34 questions. And the selected of a sample of (86) my teaching was chosen from the faculty members of the college of management and economics /the university of mosul, as for the case study method was used. The researchers reached a number amount to a number of conclusions, the most important of which is a weakness in the orientation towards the authoring and publish of scientific books by university professors. As for the most important proposals that were presented in the research are the importance of caring for providing the provision of information technology in all colleges of the University of Mosul because it is one a basic of the requirement in contemporary university education.

The main purpose of the present research is to analyze the knowledge creation environment at an Iranian University (Alzahra University) as a typical University in Iran, using a combination of thei-System and Ba models. This study is necessary for understanding the determinants of knowledge creation at Alzahra University as a typical University in Iran. To carry out the present research, which is an applied study in terms of purpose, a descriptive survey method was used. In this study, a combination of the i-System and Ba models has been used to analyze the knowledge creation environment at Alzahra University. i-System consists of 5 constructs including intervention (input), intelligence (process), involvement (process), imagination (process), and integration (output). The Ba environment has three pillars, namely the infrastructure, the agent, and the information. The integration of these two models resulted in 11 constructs which were as follows: intervention (input), infrastructure-intelligence, agent-intelligence, information-intelligence (process); infrastructure-involvement, agent-involvement, information-involvement (process); infrastructure-imagination, agent-imagination, information-imagination (process); and integration (output). These 11 constructs were incorporated into a 52-statement questionnaire and the validity and reliability of the questionnaire were examined and confirmed. The statistical population included the faculty members of Alzahra University (344 people). A total of 181 participants were selected through the stratified random sampling technique. The descriptive statistics, binomial test, regression analysis, and structural equation modeling (SEM) methods were also utilized to analyze the data. The research findings indicated that among the 11 research constructs, the levels of intervention, information-intelligence, infrastructure-involvement, and agent-imagination constructs were average and not acceptable. The levels of infrastructure-intelligence and information-imagination constructs ranged from average to low. The levels of agent-intelligence and information-involvement constructs were also completely average. The level of infrastructure-imagination construct was average to high and thus was considered acceptable. The levels of agent-involvement and integration constructs were above average and were in a highly acceptable condition. Furthermore, the regression analysis results indicated that only two constructs, viz. the information-imagination and agent-involvement constructs, positively and significantly correlate with the integration construct. The results of the structural equation modeling also revealed that the intervention, intelligence, and involvement constructs are related to the integration construct with the complete mediation of imagination. The present research suggest that knowledge creation at Alzahra University relatively complies with the combination of thei-System and Ba models. Unlike this model, the intervention, intelligence, and involvement constructs are not directly related to the integration construct and this seems to have three implications: 1) the information sources are not frequently used to assess and identify the research biases; 2) problem finding is probably of less concern at the end of studies and at the time of assessment and validation; 3) the involvement of others has a smaller role in the summarization, assessment, and validation of the research.

This study examined important information resources and format inclination of information resources utilized by science and technology (S&T) researchers as they acquire information in the course of their projects. The study institute was “Federal Institute of Industrial Research Oshodi (FIIRO) in Nigeria”. The study employed the research design of mixed methods. Questionnaires were utilized for S&T researchers and interview engagements with professional librarians in order to collect data. One hundred and fourteen copies were received for the questionnaires distributed to S&T researchers. All the professional librarians (five) working in the institute’s library were acceptably interviewed. The S&T researchers uncovered that the journal was the information resource most important to them. The preferred format for information resources was the combination of print and non-print resources. We recommend that both print and electronic versions of information resources should be provided for the researchers by the institute’s administrators. Further studies are required on expansion and changes in S&T researchers’ information resource preferences in order to adequately tackle their contemporary and prospective need for information.

The aim of the present study is to visualize the dynamics of conceptual clusters, hidden patterns and emerging knowledge of "cybernetics in Middle Eastern countries" subject area in a global scale based on the co-word analysis of scientific outcomes indexed in the Web of Science database. This research is an applied one, performed with the co-word analysis method and analytical approach. The population includes 2280 keywords from 705 records in the cybernetics subject area in Middle Eastern countries, published in 7 journals indexed in the Web of Science database until 2018. To have a coherence set of data and create the co-occurrence matrix, RavarPreMap software applied. Then, using SPSS 16 and VOSViewer, the subjects were clustered and mapped. Specifications of co-word networks such as centrality and density illustrated using UCInet software in the form of a strategic diagram. Thereby, the situation and evolutionary branches of the cybernetics subject area revealed in Middle Eastern countries. The trend of scientific productions in cybernetics in Middle Eastern counties is incremental. Computer science, with 444 records, is the core subject in the mentioned studies. Researchers’ intellectual structures are identifiable in 12 clusters. The most significant cluster is the twelfth one, named master data mining algorithms and including 20 keywords. The distribution of clusters in the strategic diagram shows that Clusters 1, 2, and 4 are core issues in the subject area.Furthermore, they are mature and coherent, being studied at the core of the research area, having a core and developable role. The co-word analysis is a proper and powerful method in discovering and visualizing science and knowledge, tracking sciences, studying the trend of conceptual dynamicity, identifying and analyzing researchable fields in the subject area of cybernetics. This study uses forecasting approach based on key driving forces and their interactions in order to identify important driving forces affecting the future of academic libraries in Iran. The study is a combination of literature review, experts’ opinions and cross impact analysis. In order to analyze the data, SPSS and MicMac applications were used. This is an applied study and the study population consisted of a group of stakeholders with dynamic roles in the future of academic libraries or those with clear pictures regarding the current trends in academic libraries worldwide. Experts were selected using purposeful sampling and included faculty members and researchers in the field of information science and scientometrics, as well as managers and librarians of academic libraries. After literature review, 70 driving forces were identified and categorized in 9 categories. The interaction between these driving forces was evaluated by experts selected from the study population. After evaluating direct and indirect interactions between these forces using MicMac software, 13 key driving forces were identified. The findings of this study indicated that driving forces of “systemic and creative thinking of library management”, “consistency between library managers expertise with information and scientometrics fields”, “development of strategic plans for libraries”, “welcoming of changes by the employees”, “place as one of the bases of educational system”, “electronic publishing”, “preparation of curriculum books”, “ online citation resources”, “nature of information and access methods”, “development of information and communication technologies”, “knowledge management in library planning”, “electronic content creation”, and “documents management”, had the largest effects on future of academic libraries. Also the findings of this study indicated that driving forces of “systemic and creative thinking of library management” and “consistency between library managers’ expertise with information and scientometrics fields” had the highest frequency related to being in a suitable situation with average of 1.92 and total of 25 positive scores. Key driving forces of “Development of strategic plans for libraries” and “welcoming of changes by the employees” with the average of 0.69 and total of 9 positive scores had the next places and had the largest effects on future of academic libraries. The analysis of the results indicates two facts regarding academic libraries. The first fact is that, through a small amount of effort, academic libraries are able to retain their traditional position in educational institutes. The second fact is that distancing the general process of academic libraries from critical and undesirable results, requires four main activities including “development of strategic plans for libraries”, “using employees who are enthusiastic regarding change”, “compatibility between managers’ specialties and information science and scientometrics” and “systemic thoughts and creativity of library managers”. The results of this study can be used for decision making and planning of higher education managers and authorities. Identifying the driving forces and their interactions can be used for decision making and planning for the future of academic libraries.

OPAC visibility, implementation of the cloud system and challenges of its adoption are the variables that define the crust of the research. The study, compartmentalizing the Nigerian University libraries, adopted the quantitative methods employing the use of observation and survey. A two-month long observation of the websites and OPAC of the studied universities was undertaken. The non-probability sampling - precisely purposive sampling - was deployed while the entire one hundred and sixty (160) Nigerian universities – as at 2018 – served as the sample size for the study. A questionnaire was designed to collect primary data on the availability of OPACs and adoption of cloud hosting in Nigerian university libraries. This was administered electronically via the email-boxes of virtual/systems librarians. Significant trends noticeable in the research findings include low visibility, in-house hosting of OPAC and indifference to the adoption of cloud computing with hosting (subscription) fee, downtime in internet connectivity and fear of vulnerability to hackers’ attack being the significant challenges. It is recommended that stakeholders should leverage on the existing consortium (platform) facilitated by Nigerian Research and Education Network (NgREN) to benefit from the economy of scale in addition to collaboration with relevant global agencies. Furthermore, a synergy between the librarians and the ICT units should be strengthened for a better understanding of the technical challenges in order to provide appropriate solutions to them.

The purpose of this paper is to study the patron’s usage behavior in an academic library. This study investigates on pattern of patron’s books borrowing in Khunying Long Athakravisunthorn Learning Resources Center, Prince of Songkla University that influence patron’s academic achievement during on academic year 2015-2018. The study collected and analyzed data from the libraries, registrar, and human resources. The students’ performance data was obtained from PSU Student Information System and the rest from ALIST library information system. WEKA was used as the data mining tool employing data mining techniques of association rules and clustering. All data sets were mined and analyzed to identify characteristics of the patron’s book borrowing, to discover the association rules of patron’s interest, and to analyze the relationships between academic library use and undergraduate students’ achievement. The results reveal patterns of patron’s book loan behavior, patterns of book usage, patterns of interest rules with respect to patron’s interest in book borrowing, and patterns of relationships between patron’s borrowing and their grade. The ability to clearly identify and describe library patron’s behavior pattern can help library in managing resources and services more effectively. This study provides a sample model as guideline or campus partnerships and for future collaborations that will take advantage of the academic library information and data mining to improve library management and library services.

The aim of the study is to offer integrated access to information and data sources in the libraries of Iranian universities of medical sciences (UMS) as an important feature enhancing the quality and quantity of research. Thus, it is essential to study the status of Iranian libraries of UMS in terms of integration features. Accordingly, the main objective of the present study was the identification of integration in libraries of Iranian UMS in terms of metadata, digital contents, software, hardware, and human force. The quantitative study was conducted with an analytic survey method. The statistical population consists of 66 Iranian UMS, of this, 59 libraries completed the researcher-made questionnaire. To ensure the accuracy of data, interviews and, in some cases, observations were also performed. Statistical estimates of frequency, percentage, cumulative frequency, and diagrams were utilized for data analysis. The results demonstrated that the library software programs of UMS do not have a desirable status in terms of content, human force, software infrastructure, and integration features. These libraries enjoyed an optimal status in terms of hardware which was, however, not properly used. To create integrated access to the contents of libraries of Iranian UMS, it is essential to provide the required infrastructure, including integration features, human force, and appropriate contents such as the metadata and digital contents of data sources

The co-words analysis, as a scientometric method, helps us to discover the conceptual relationships between scientific texts and application of such relationships as a means to demonstrate important links that may be difficult to discover in other ways. This article is intended to use an analytical approach and identify research areas and to reveal the intellectual structure of knowledge in laser researches in biomedicine literature during 2009-2018. In this descriptive-analytical study with a scientometric approach, the data about laser were retrieved from PubMed in MEDINE format, including 7,682 articles with 18,227 keywords. By using co-word analysis, clustering methods, and strategic diagram; the data were analyzed with the help of SPSS 20, UcInet, and VOSviewer software. This study found that a steady growth could be seen on the laser research and 19.47% of publications are found in 5 journals. The most frequent keywords in the field of laser have been “lasers, solid-state”, “laser therapy”, “lasers, excimer”, etc. The results of cluster analysis shaped the concepts of laser in 7 clusters. The cluster “laser, excimer” was well developed and it plays an effective role. In contrast, “Photo chemotherapy”, “skin diseases with Emphasis on Lasers, gas”, “Laser Effects”, “Laser dentistry “and “Corneal Surgery, Laser” were relatively immature, which necessitates potential research space for future study. This research used co-word networks that indicate the important links between keywords of research areas. Disclosing the thorough context of issues which were encountered at the time of investigating, these networks will be used in locating knowledge gaps. Majority of research approaches include treatments or therapeutic aspects of laser in ophthalmology. The lack of some topics such as cardiology, oncology, optogenetics etc. shows that they have not been considered. Moreover, nevertheless of the practice site, application, or system in use, there is the goal of making and keeping a laser-safe environment for the staff, the user, and patient. These subjects have not been sufficiently considered.

Evaluating the quality and quantity of information presented by universities on their website is the main strategy to ensure that the university web-based activities are in the correct order. In this regard, there are several ranking systems that evaluate the quality and quantity of web-based activities of universities and accordingly rank them. Comparing the universities based on web activity measurement is a suitable tool to find out the weaknesses of the university for presenting itself on World Wide Web. In this study, top-ranked Iranian medical universities were compared with top-ranked world universities according to the website traffic data. For this purpose, the website traffic information was acquired from “Similarweb” website. The results showed that the total traffic size, bounce rate and backlinks from referrals and social networks were significantly different between Iranian medical and world top-ranked universities. Furthermore, the results of this analysis revealed that the quality of website, which expectedly increased the visit duration and visited pages, was not significantly correlated with total traffic size for nor top-ranked world and Iranian medical universities. In addition, the results showed that the total traffic size of top-ranked world universities was significantly correlated with backlinks from direct access and search engines, while for Iranian medical universities such correlation could not be found. In conclusion, the main gap between top-ranked Iranian medical universities and top-ranked world universities was due to the search engine optimization issues and the link between social networks and universities, that both need more enhancement.

Vast majority of data mining algorithms have been designed to work on centralized data, unfortunately however, almost all of nowadays data sets are distributed both geographically and conceptually. Due to privacy and computation cost, centralizing distributed data sets before analyzing them is undoubtedly impractical. In this paper, we present a framework for clustering distributed data which takes into account privacy and computation cost. To do that, we remove uncertain instances and just send the label of the other instances to the central location. To remove the uncertain instances, we develop a new instance weighting method based on fuzzy and rough set theory. The achieved results on well-known data verify effectiveness of the proposed method compared to previous works.

In this paper, the opinions of bioinformatics experts were sought to examine the knowledge semantic maps. The research question was whether the mapping of bioinformatics field articles could contribute to the reflection of knowledge map in this field; can knowledge within articles be demonstrated through a knowledge map? The research type was applied and analytical. Data collection was performed in two ways. First, the data were collected from scientific databases by using semantic search software and drawing knowledge maps by the software. Second, Delphi technique was used in two stages in order to obtain the opinion of experts regarding these knowledge semantic maps and co-concepts in bioinformatics field. In this method, first, the co-concepts map of the articles exported by Yewno and the knowledge semantics map were presented to the experts to get their viewpoints. By implementing the Delphi approach, the opinions of experts in examining the application of knowledge semantic maps resulted in the phonological analysis of articles in this field. The analysis results demonstrated that the knowledge map of bioinformatics studies dynamically developed over time. The continuous conduction flow of scientific studies in this field brought continuous changes to the knowledge of this field.

During the last decades, market orientation has received a great deal of attention from marketing scholars. In recent years, there has been an increased focus on the relationship between market orientation and business performance. This study aims at enhancing the researchers’ knowledge of market orientation and performance through analysis of international scientific researches over the past thirty years. This study, as an inductive and explorative research, by using systematic review and synthesis research, considers the researches in the field of market orientation and performance. Articles indexed by the Web of Science during the years 1900-2019 and three other scientific databases (Science Direct, Emerald, and Springer) were thoroughly investigated. The VOS Viewer software was used to perform the analysis. In the present study, from the 324 articles published by various authors, based on the report of the Web of Science database, scientific articles published on the impact of market orientation on performance grew significantly in the year 2015, and the United States, China and the United Kingdom have had the highest numbers of research. By using an evaluative view of the research, a comprehensive model is presented, which can also be used as a framework for researchers and managers. This study considers the importance of market orientation in promoting performance as a momentous and valuable structure. In addition, the current study introduces a comprehensive overview of the literature, most important emerging research trends, and the research opportunities of the future.
